The brief
Meridian had fourteen country sites, each on a different stack, each maintained by a different agency. Updating a press release took three weeks and four invoices. They wanted one platform, one editorial workflow, and a brand presence that finally felt unified.
What we did
We designed a single multilingual platform with locale-aware routing, region-specific content blocks, and a centralised editorial workflow with regional override permissions. The IA is structured so that 80% of content is shared and 20% is locally owned — exactly matching how the business actually operates.
The build is on Next.js with a headless CMS, deployed to the edge with locale-aware caching. Pages render in under a second across every region we tested.
Results
- Content updates that took three weeks now take one afternoon.
- Six languages live at launch, two more queued for 2026.
- Organic traffic +34% in the six months after launch as canonical and hreflang were finally correct everywhere.
- One agency relationship instead of fourteen.
What's next
We're rolling the platform out to two more languages and helping their internal team take over more of the day-to-day operations.
